Following is a sampling of things to do and see in the beautiful Cuyahoga Falls area:
Boardwalk at the Falls River Square - take a stroll along the streets of patterned brick. Enjoy the waterfalls, vintage architecture, and an inspirational fountain as you visit the many shops and restaurants of the Falls River Square.
Blossom Music Center (330-920-8040) 1145 W. Steels Corners Road - Northeast Ohio's premier outdoor amphitheater. This beautiful facility is the proud summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra, and the host of many nationally acclaimed performers and acts. Enjoy an evening in the seated pavilion or upon a blanket on the plush grassy hills surrounding the amphitheater. Blossom Music Center, a summer's night under the stars.
Brookledge Golf Club (330-971-8416) 1621 E. Bailey Road - Our Municipal Course was designed by nationally known golf architect, Arthur Hills. The 18hole course has been praised for its beauty, degree of challenge and excellent condition. Complimenting the golf course is the golf academy with its practice facility featuring 200 grass tees as well as putting and chipping greens.
Church Square - Exit Route 8 at Broad Blvd, proceed West (on the left is Pilgrim United Church of Christ). Turn Right on 2nd Street; pass the Post Office on the left, then Left on Portage Trail (on the right is St. John's Episcopal Church and First United Methodist Church). Then turn Right on Third Street (First Christian Church). Visit four historical churches all within a few blocks. A unique walking experience.
Clock Tower at Falls River Square - this historic landmark is located at the corner of Front Street and Broad Boulevard near the Falls Towne Centre building.
Clifford Auto Museum - located at the corner of Front Street and Broad Boulevard next to the Clifford Funeral Home, this mini-antique Auto Museum also includes car memorabilia, old bicycles, peddle cars, signs, and gas pumps. For a stroll down memory lane, stop in the Clifford Funeral Home and one of the employees will be glad to show you around the Auto Museum.
The Conrad Botzum Farm (330-253-4400) - 3486 Riverview Road - 25 acres of "valley farm beauty". Walk up the driveway anytime and enjoy the atmosphere. The owners are usually there on Saturdays working on the restoration of the 95 year old farm house. Summer concert series, hayrides and cider in the fall time. You can also rent out the farm for Wedding Receptions and Special Events.
Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society Museum (330- 929-1765 ) - See some of the most unique historical items on display in Cuyahoga Falls. Call to confirm hours.
The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (330-928-8092) - located at 2131 Front Street. Featuring monthly exhibitions and qualified instruction in fine and applied art. Admission is free and course tuition is very affordable.
The Cuyahoga Valley National Park Recreational Area (1-800-445-9667) - stay in touch with nature while enjoying 33,000 acres of scenic landscapes. Over 6000 acres are located in Cuyahoga Falls.
Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet (330-922-4534) - a pre professional dance company, under the artistic direction of Mia Klinger Welch, performing original children's ballets. Formed as a non-profit organization in 1975 by founding artistic director Nan Klinger. Annual season performances at the Akron Civic Theatre, performances for school children in surrounding counties, and the Reach Out And Dance (ROAD) program in residence at area schools.
Downtown Festivals - Falls River Square in downtown Cuyahoga Falls is the site of many community festivals and special events. Events include the Italian American Festival, Irish Festival, Rib Burn Off, Oktoberfest, weekly "Rockin' on the River" TGIF parties, Sunday Evening Concert Series, and many others. Downview Sports Center (330-971-8418) 1617 Bailey Road - The sports center features a beautiful driving range overlooking the Brookledge Golf Course. Also for the kids and the young of heart, putt through castles and windmills on the 18 hole miniature golf course. For baseball enthusiasts, enjoy the many batting cages set for every skill level. New skate park.
Falls River Square/Riverfront Centre District - A Pedestrian area along the historical Cuyahoga River. Antique shops, restaurants and coffee shops. More than 300,000 people attend the summer festivals held here. There is a Fountain is located at the North end, and an interactive Fountain located at the South near the Clock Tower of the Falls River Square/Riverfront Centre District. A MUST SEE area!
Falls River Tours (330-971-8225) - Located on Riverfront Parkway. Cruise the scenic Cuyahoga River on a pontoon boat, complete with a historic overview. Call the City of Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department for schedules and prices.
Funny Stop Comedy Club (330-923-4700) 1757 State Road - Northeast Ohio's premier comedy showplace.
The Indian Statue - this landmark is located at the corner of North Front Street and Second Street across the street from Acme.
Jack Richard Studios & Almond Tea Gallery (330-929-1575) 2250 Front Street - the place to buy original and unique paintings; located by the Fountain at the Riverfront Centre District.
Mary Campbell Cave, (part of the Metroparks, Gorge Park) located off Front Street, south past the Sheraton Suites. This cave is a massive cliff overhand, which once served as a home to the Native Indians. Mary Campbell was a pioneer girl captured in PA by the Delaware Indians and brought to the cave where she lived as a child of Chief Netawatwees. She was released after five years during the 1764 treaty ending the French and Indian War.
The Natatorium "The Nat" Health and Fitness Center (330-971-8080) 2351 Fourth Street - The Natatorium provides a complete variety of fitness equipment, programs and classes, including: two swimming pools, whirlpools, a sauna, steam room, two rubberized walking/jogging tracks, racquetball courts, Fitness Circuit, Cardio Theater, and classes in swimming, water aerobics, scuba diving, Karate, Tai Chi, and yoga.
Porthouse Theater of Blossom Music Center (330-672-2082 / 330-929-4416) 1145 W. Steels Corners Road - three plays each summer season - June through August.
Riverfront YMCA (330-923-5223) - located at 544 Broad Boulevard. The YMCA offers a fitness center, free weights, gymnastic center, climbing wall, dance & aerobic studio, computer lab and child care from 6 weeks to 5th grade. The YMCA offers a variety of program options for all ages including swim lessons, land and water fitness, family programs, youth sports and much more.
Quirk Cultural Center (330-971-8425) 1201 Grant Avenue - The Center is located in the beautifully restored Grant Elementary School. It is the home of many community activities such as sporting instruction, dance lessons, arts and crafts, children's programs, and senior citizen programs.
Cuyahoga Falls Library (330-928-2117) - located at the comer of Third Street and Broad Blvd, a great place to relax and read.
Waterworks Family Aquatic Center (330-971-8433 or 330- 971-8229) 2025 Munroe Falls Avenue - features something for everyone, including a tube slide, drop slides, waterfalls, lap lanes, geysers, lazy river and volleyball.
