TASK FORCE / COMMITTEE INFORMATION
The Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce offers several different programs and events throughout the year with the help and coordination of volunteer Chamber members.
The following is a description of ongoing Task Forces.
Community EXPO Task Force - Help plan this EXPO event to showcase to the community what businesses and services are available. This event is scheduled for the spring every year. Help secure sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers. Work on entertainment for the event as well as the floor plan. Serve as a volunteer at the EXPO.
Citizen/Business Person of the Year Awards/Memorial Day Parade Task Force - This Task Force plans and organizes these awards in conjunction with the annual Memorial Day Parade. Coordinate winners bios, awards, wreathe for Cemetery presentation. Also help select the award winners. Help recruit sponsors for this event. The awards are given out at the CFCC May Monthly Lunch Meeting. The parade is Memorial Day with the award winners riding in the CFCC donated convertible/car.
Community Awards Luncheon Task Force - This Task Force plans and organizes these awards, which recognize the significant contributions of local businesses to the economic growth and development of the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Help select the winners by visiting the nominee’s places of business and recruit sponsors. Also take photos of the winners businesses and coordinate a slide show for the event. This Luncheon event is in October.
Chamber Publications Task Force – This Task Force coordinates the Cuyahoga Falls Street Map, Annual Membership Directory and Monthly Newsletter Falls Focus. Reviews bid for each publication. Help sell ads for each publication as needed. Also work and with each on the layout as needed. This is a creative Committee!
Golf Outing Fundraiser- Task Force This Task Force plans and organizes our Annual Golf Outing, which helps benefit the Chamber Scholarship program. Help recruit hole sponsors, door prizes, golfers and volunteers. Serve as a volunteer at the outing. This all day event is scheduled for the second Wednesday of August.
Holiday Reception & Silent Auction Task Force – This Task Force organizes the last event of the year. Help select a location, entertainment, and menu. Coordinate the official swearing in ceremony with the Mayor for the incoming Board Members. Also secure items for the Silent Auction.
Membership Benefits/Ambassadors Task Force - This Task Force evaluates member benefits and works on member retention ideas. Serves as greeters at various events. Works as a Greeter, Registration, 50/50 Scholarship Ticket Seller, Ambassador Table and Pick a Card Volunteer at the Monthly Luncheon.
Nominating Task Force - This Task Force forms in August to help recruit candidates for a nomination slate of board members presented at the November Annual Membership lunch meeting.
Public Officials Luncheon Task Force - This Task Force plans and organizes this reception, which is held in honor of our city, public and school officials. This helps establish rapport between the business community and local government and school officials. This Luncheon is held in March.
A Night at The Races Fundraiser Task Force - This creative Task Force plans and organizes this fundraiser that helps benefit the CFCC Scholarship Fund. Picks a theme for the event. This Task Force sells tickets to this evening event, and recruits volunteers for the event.
Scholarship Task Force - This Task Force plans and organizes the scholarships that are given out at the CFCC June lunch meeting. With other Task Force members you will help choose and interview the recipients of these scholarships as well as recruit monetary donations through the CFCC membership. Also comes up with fundraising ideas for the Scholarship Program.
